Although Months Off, Registration’s Open for 18th RevRun

April 21 Valley Forge ‘RevRun’ Benefits Historical Park

March 21, 2024

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Registration is open for the 18th annual Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run (the RevRun). The fund-raising event benefits Valley Forge National Historical Park, specifically “to enhance the visitor experience and support our local national treasure,” park representatives said.

The in-person version of the highly popular run will be held April 21 (2024; Sunday), with registration closing a day earlier (Saturday, April 20, at 3 p.m.). The “Conquer the Valley” run, as it’s sometimes also called, costs $60. A companion in-person 2-mile walk also is open for registration during the same period, at a cost of $45.

Their virtual counterparts, which became available in 2021 during the COVID pandemic, also return between April 21-28 (Sunday to Sunday). They will rely on the RaceJoy digital app available for Apple and Android devices.

The virtual runs enjoyed record-breaking registration since their start. RaceJoy allows runners to cover 5 miles anywhere in the world, and costs $45. Runners and walkers so far have participated from 24 U.S. states, Germany, and the Netherlands.

No refunds will be available for either in-person or virtual runs.

‘A unique challenge for runners’

According to the run website:

The RevRun has been a unique challenge for runners of all skill levels. Runners trek a five-mile, USAF-certified course that traverses the scenic Valley Forge National Historical Park,” 1400 N. Outer Line Dr. The 18th annual run occurs during National Park Week.

“Since its inception in 2006, Rev Run has raised (more than) $600,000 for park infrastructure improvement projects and programming … 2023 led the way in record-breaking fundraising, with single- year proceeds” totaling $70,000, all of which went directly to the park.

Parking in the park will not be available on race day. Thirteen shuttles are scheduled to run continuously from the parking lot at the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Bureau office, on First Avenue in King of Prussia, to the park.

The first shuttle begins at 6:30 a.m.; the last shuttle leaving from the lot is at 7:50 a.m. to get participants into the park before its gate closes. Outbound shuttle service resumes at 10:45 a.m. for returns to the parking lot.
