MCCC Hosts Open Houses in Pottstown, Blue Bell, Online

POTTSTOWN PA – Prospective college students, their families, and community residents are invited to any of three free Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) spring open house events scheduled for April 13 at its Pottstown campus, April 27 at its Blue Bell campus, and May 2 online.

New this year is “Project Re-Connect,” a program providing a financial resource for Pennsylvania residents – and specifically those in Montgomery, Berks, and Chester counties – for students seeking to re-enroll at the college.

Pottstown’s open house

The open house on the Pottstown campus kicks off April 13 (2024; Saturday) from 10 a.m. to noon on the first floor of South Hall, 101 College Dr. Those who attend will meet with faculty, administrators, and current students to learn about available programs and services.

Prospective students and families can receive information on financial aid, support services, academic programs, workforce development, and transfer partnerships. Campus tours will also be available. Register online.

MCCC also welcomes employers and employees to the open houses to learn more about its more than 100 programs, flexible schedules and online courses. Through the college prior learning assessment, working students may head start on earning an associate’s degree by qualifying for credits or waiver of courses, depending on experience and training.

Blue Bell’s open house

The college will host its Blue Bell campus open house April 27 (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to noon in its Health Sciences Center, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell PA. Register online.

An information fair will be held the Health Sciences Center atrium. Those attending can connect with faculty and administrators from academic units, support services and student life. Visitors can take self-guided tours through the Health Sciences Center’s labs and clinical spaces.

In addition to learning about the college and visiting open buildings on campus, students interested in culinary arts, or baking and pastry arts, can speak with faculty members from The Hospitality Institute, who also will offer demonstrations. The institute, currently under construction, is slated to open in Fall 2024, and also will serve the college tourism and hospitality management programs.

Also open for exploration will be its science, advanced technology, fine arts, and health sciences centers, and college hall.

The online open hose

Visitors will have the opportunity May 2 (Thursday) from 6-7 p.m. to learn online about flexible programs, discover affordable ways to pay for an education at MCCC, listen to presentations, and ask questions. Register online.

After the event ends, the hour-long presentation will remain available online throughout the year for those unable to attend.
