Grandview Races Returning to Astound TV for 22nd Year

March 8, 2024

BECHTELSVILLE PA – Racing at Grandview Speedway, 43 Passmore Rd., will be broadcast on the Astound TV Network during six selected nights of the track’s 2024 season, Grandview’s Rogers Family management team announced Thursday (March 7, 2024).

The network is operated by Bethlehem PA-based Astound Broadband. Its commitment to this year’s tape-delayed broadcast schedule represents Astound’s 22nd season at Grandview, the family added. The network has covered local auto racing since the early 1970s, totaling 42 years of bringing the sport to the region’s viewers.

The six selected Saturday night events, all of which include T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman, are scheduled for:

  • May 11 (with the USAC East Sprints);
  • May 25 and June 22;
  • July 13 (with the Sportsman Firecracker 40);
  • July 27; and
  • Aug. 10 for the 54th annual Forrest Rogers Memorial for Modifieds.

The announcing team of Mike Feltenberger and Randy Kane will return for all network broadcasts, as they have for several years, according to a Speedway media release. “Participating race teams enjoy having the race events shown” on the network, it noted, as “another way to get their race team sponsors additional and expanded exposure.”

New this year, Grandview reported, the Astound production team will split each of the six racing programs into two separate shows. The track’s heat races will be a complete broadcast shown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday nights following race day. Its feature presentations will air at 7 p.m. on the following Fridays, with further replays to follow, the track explained.

The coming season will be the 62nd consecutive year of racing at Grandview. It begins March 23 (Saturday) at noon with a double-header program of Outlaw Racing Series Enduro and Outlaw Racing Series Vintage action. Its rain date is March 24 (Sunday).

The speedway’s annual free-to-the-public practice session, open to all divisions, is scheduled for the following week on March 30 (Saturday) starting at noon.

Grandview’s official opening night is set for April 6 (Saturday), with the running of the 7th annual VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker for Big Block/Small Block Modifieds. This event is the first point race of the new season, and pays the winner $7,500 for 50-laps of feature racing, along with $1,000 to take the green in the feature. The winner also is a guaranteed starter for the 2024 Freedom 76 in September.
