LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Construction activities will continue this week (Monday through Thursday, Feb. 26-29) on U.S. Route 422 and Porter Road across a portion of Lower Pottsgrove Township.
They are part of an $83.6 million Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to rebuild and improve about 1.7 miles of the expressway, and replace two bridges between the Sanatoga interchange and Porter Road.
PennDOT said resulting travel restrictions are expected to include:
- A single-lane closure on all four dates from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. on westbound 422, between Evergreen Road and Armand Hammer Boulevard;
- A single-lane closure on all four dates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on eastbound 422, between Armand Hammer Boulevard and Evergreen Road; and
- An intermittent single-lane flagging pattern on all four dates from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Porter Road, between High Street and Sanatoga Station Road.
Additionally, drivers are reminded that beginning March 4 (Monday) Sanatoga Road will be closed between Linfield Road and East High Street through April 15 (Friday) for water and sewer relocations. Traffic will be detoured around-the-clock, with drivers directed to use Linfield Road, Evergreen Road and High Street.
Allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas, PennDOY urged. Backups and delays will occur, is said. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.
