NORRISTOWN PA – Advance registration is now available online from Montgomery County for six household hazardous waste collection events scheduled between April and October (2024), including those in Harleysville and Royersford.

Additionally, Chester County will provide four locations for its own household hazardous waste collections, and also will serve as a host for Montgomery County residents’ drop-offs. One will be available in Phoenixville.

Both the MontCo Recycles and Chester County collections are intended for residents only, and not for businesses or contractors, their websites explained. Televisions, appliances and electronic devices, and latex paint, will NOT be accepted at any events. Montgomery County offers two online lists of what contributors can, and cannot, drop off.

Registration for Montgomery County events

Dates, times, locations, and links to register for available Montgomery County time slots are listed for these Saturdays:

  • April 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Indian Valley Middle School, 130 Maple Ave., Harleysville;
  • June 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at Temple University-Ambler Campus, 1431 East Butler Pike, Ambler;
  • June 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at Abington Middle School, 2056 Susquehanna Rd., Abington;
  • June 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at Norristown Area High School, 1900 Eagle Dr., Norristown;
  • Sept. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at Spring-Ford 9th Grade Center, 400 S. Lewis Rd., Royersford; as well as
  • Oct. 13 (the only Sunday scheduled), from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at Lower Merion Transfer Station, 1300 N. Woodbine Ave., Penn Valley.

Registration for Chester County events

The four household hazardous waste recycling events in Chester County now also available for online registration are:

  • April 20 (Saturday), from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., at the Pickering campus of Technical College High School, 1580 Charlestown Rd., Phoenixville;
  • June 21 (the only Friday scheduled), from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., at the Coatesville CCIU Learning Center, 1635 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesville;
  • Aug. 24 (Saturday), from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at the Oxford School District Administration Building, 125 Bell Tower Ln., Oxford; and
  • Oct. 5 (Saturday), from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., at the Government Services Building, 601 Westtown Rd., West Chester.
