Turnpike Bridge Construction Planned Next Week at 422

February 23, 2024

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Overhead bridge work on the Pennsylvania Turnpike as it crosses U.S. Route 422 will create both day- and night-time traffic restrictions on 422 next Monday through Saturday (Feb. 26 to March 2), the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced. North Gulph Road also will be affected.

Planned for the full 6-day period are:

  • A single lane closure with periodic traffic paces nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning on eastbound 422, between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202;
  • A single lane closure with periodic traffic paces nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning on westbound 422, also between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202; and
  • A single lane closure with periodic traffic paces daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on southbound North Gulph Road, again between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202.

Drivers should use caution and be prepared for slow or stopped traffic approaching the work areas, PennDOT said. The work schedule depends on acceptable weather.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike is completing the project under a PennDOT highway occupancy permit.
