MOUNT HOLLY NJ – Pottstown, Collegeville, and all of Montgomery County could receive between 2 and 4 inches of snow Tuesday (Feb. 12, 2024) from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m., the National Weather Service warned.
The weather service regional office in Mount Holly declared a winter weather advisory in effect for the area during the same period. “Rain will change over to snow very early Tuesday morning,” it said, and indicated winds could gust up to 35 miles per hour. “Slow down and use caution while traveling,” it urged.
“Hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute,” the service added, and suggested drivers should “plan on slippery road conditions.” A “hazardous weather outlook” advisory for Tuesday accompanied the advisory.
Its forecasters explained that “briefly heavy snow will be possible around the time of the morning commute.” Snowfall rates of one-half to 1 inch per hour are possible. However, it acknowledged “uncertainty regarding snow amounts, and how efficiently the snow will accumulate on roads.”
Mild temperatures, with precipitation starting as rain overnight, would play roles in the outcome, it noted.
