COLLEGEVILLE PA – “Everybody,” a play by contemporary playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, re-imagines the medieval morality play, Everyman. It’s presented “as a fresh and hilarious take on our modern world,” and is scheduled for five February performance dates at Ursinus College.
Jacobs-Jenkins introduces the main character, Everybody, who must learn valuable lessons about life and love in order to live meaningfully. However a different actor from the company takes on the role of Everybody during each performance, creating “raucous and unpredictable” moments for the audience.
The performance is directed by Ursinus Theater Professor Domenick Scudera.
Shows are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 21-24 (Wednesday through Saturday), and on Feb. 25 (Sunday) at 2 p.m. matinée at the theater in the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center, 601 E. Main St. The Sunday show is an American Sign Language-interpreted performance. Tickets are available for purchase online.
