ALLENTOWN PA – State road maintenance crews are scheduled to work Jan. 17-19 (2024; Wednesday through Friday) in the Berks County municipalities of Union Township, and Boyertown and Bally boroughs. No traffic restrictions are expected, but drivers are urged to be cautious.
The Allentown-based District 5 office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said it planned unspecified road work:
- Jan. 17 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. eastbound on state Route 724 in Union Township, between state Route 10 and River Bridge Road;
- Jan. 17 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Montgomery Avenue in Boyertown Borough, between East 6th and North Berks streets; and
- Jan. 18-19 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days on state Route 100 in Bally Borough, between Gehringer Road and Niantic Road.
At each location, PennDOT asked drivers to proceed slowly through the work zones. All scheduled work depends on acceptable weather, it added.
