Hill School to Open Ice for Families’ Community Skating

December 26, 2023

POTTSTOWN PA – Free ice skating will be available to the Pottstown community for a limited time beginning in early January, The Hill School announced.

The school said its indoor Edward Tuck Hall Arena and Thomas Eccleston Jr. Ice Rink would be opened to public skating Sundays from 4-5:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 7 (2024), and will continue “until the ice can no longer be maintained,” it added. In earlier years the rink was opened the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, but this year maintenance work is being conducted during that period.

As a result, The Hill School said it is “making these Sundays available for Pottstown families.”

Prospective skaters should be aware that:

  • Guests should enter the rink through the doors along Chestnut Street, near the intersection of Chestnut and Sheridan streets;
  • Skaters must bring their own skates; and
  • They will be required to wear either a helmet, or heavy knit cap, to protect their heads.

For more information, call The Hill School athletics department at 610-705-1201, or send an e-mail to contact@hobartsrunpottstown.org.
