Work in Berks Planned Next Week on State Highways

PennDOT Schedules Road Maintenance in Amity, Robeson

December 23, 2023

LEIGHTON PA – Roadwork that could affect drivers in two eastern Berks County townships has been scheduled for the coming week by the Leighton-based District 5 office of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

In Amity Township

Lane closures accompanied by flagging are planned by PennDOT maintenance crews for Tuesday (Dec. 26 (2023) from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on PA Route 662, between Weavertown Road and Country Lane, in Amity Township. The nature of the work was not specified.

In Robeson Township

PennDOT advised drivers they should expect occasional restrictions Friday (Dec. 29) from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on PA Route 568 near its intersection with PA Route 724 in Robeson Township. PennDOT maintenance crews will perform work there, although its nature was not specified.

In both instances, drivers were warned to expect traffic delays, and were asked to use caution as they traveled through work zones. All scheduled projects rely on acceptable weather.

District 5 covers Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties.
