KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Line striping operations to be performed Wednesday (Dec. 20, 2023) on eastbound U.S. Route 422 will create travel restrictions there, according to the District 6 office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The King of Prussia-based office said the work was part of a $6.9 million project to rehabilitate pavement between the Route 29-Phoenixville and Route 363-Trooper Road interchanges across Upper and Lower Providence townships in Montgomery County.
Drivers can expect to encounter a single-lane closure Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. It will be placed on eastbound 422 between the Oaks and Bridgeport-Valley Forge interchanges. PennDOT also advised drivers to allow extra time when traveling through the work area, because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather, and are subject to change.
Under this project PennDOT will repair existing pavement with accelerated concrete patching; perform bridge deck repair, diamond grinding, and joint sealing; and install reflective pavement markings. Most construction activities will take place at night during off-peak travel times, it added. Daytime traffic restrictions may arise, depending on the operations involved, the agency acknowledged.
J.D. Eckman Inc. of Atglen is the general contractor.
