Join Pottstown Children’s Discovery Center 2024 Party

December 19, 2023

POTTSTOWN PA – What’s being called “the biggest family New Year’s Eve celebration in town” will get an early start on 2024 – with activities Dec. 30 (2023; Saturday) from 10 a.m. to noon – in Pottstown.

The Pottstown Children’s Discovery Center “Noon Year’s Eve” event is scheduled to be held in The Carousel at Pottstown, 30 W. King St., with sponsorship by the Kiwanis Club of Pottstown. It features hands-on activities, crafts, snacks, a half-hour period of carousel rides, and a balloon drop, the center reported in its newsletter.

Kids also will “go home with a brand new children’s book,” it stated.

Registration for this kids’ countdown to 2024 is available now online. Advance registration is suggested; admission costs $8 per child, and tickets for a family of 5 or more are offered for $35. This year’s event theme is “Be Responsible!,” the newsletter noted, “and you can bet the Pottstown Children’s Discovery Center knows how to make being responsible fun!,” it added.

A Spring 2024 opening date

The Carousel serves as this year’s Noon Year’s Eve site because the Discover Center’s future location may soon be renovated, the newsletter reported. Installation of its exhibits could be under way within weeks. A Spring 2024 opening date is anticipated.

Here’s a glimpse of what’s ahead, it stated:

“You will feel like you’re stepping into a farmyard in the Barn to Belly exhibit room, with a 2-story barn, animals, a fishing pond, and growing vegetables. We even have a surprise updated play kitchen feature.”

“The STEM exhibits room will feature a super-fun exhibit sponsored by Tri-County Area Credit Union, a repurposed exhibit from Hands On House in Lancaster, and the newest community-member sponsored exhibit,” an interactive water table called ‘Waves of Discovery.’

“We’ll also have the … theater room and the ‘I Discover’ programs room with rotating interactive themed programs. It also will be available for a birthday party rental space.”

Additionally it will have a theater room, and the ‘I Discover’ program room with rotating, interactive themed programs. Birthday party rental space also will be available.
