KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Highway resurfacing work is scheduled to continue through Friday (Dec. 15, 2023) in parts of Pottstown, Limerick, Lower Pottsgrove, West Pottsgrove, Upper Providence, Green Lane, and Marlborough.
The effort represents “multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region,” according to the King of Prussia-based District 6 office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Work began Monday and was announced to occur daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. over a five-day period.
PennDOT crews were set to be:
- In Pottstown and Lower Pottsgrove, for debris cleaning and tar sealing on High Street between Pleasant View Road and Roland Street;
- In Pottstown and West Pottsgrove, for debris cleaning and tar sealing on High Street between Manatawny Street and the Berks County line;
- In Limerick and Upper Providence, for inlet cleaning on Lewis Road, between Linfield Trappe Road and Vaughn Road; and
- In Green Lane and Marlborough, for debris cleaning and tar sealing on Upper Ridge Road, between Route 29 and the Bucks County line;
Drivers have been advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. PennDOT said slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.
Under its resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, or repaving state highways to seal them and provide a safer and smoother riding surface.
