PHILADELPHIA PA – Applications are now being accepted by the federal Small Business Administration for nominees in its annual Eastern Pennsylvania District Small Business Week Awards contests.
Self-nominations are encouraged and accepted, the district office said. It’s looking to acknowledge small businesses and their owners for “exceptional innovation, growth, community engagement or resilience.” Nominations must be submitted by no later than Dec. 7 (2023; Thursday) at 4 p.m.
The district awards include those for Small Business Person of the Year (national and district)
Small Business Exporter (national and district), Local Awards, Entrepreneurial Success of the Year, Family-Owned Small Business of the Year, Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year, Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year, Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year, and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
To make a submission, download a set forms (3300, 3301, 3315, plus a release form and a digital photo), criteria, and guidelines from the administration website. Once completed, forms must be uploaded by electronic submission ONLY to the District’s BOX account. Want help in writing a nomination? Get it from one of the district’s local resource partners.
Last year’s winners included businesses located in Allentown, Danville, Lancaster, Philadelphia, Reading, and Wayne. They also represented industries that include business services, food, health, information technology, manufacturing, and retail.
