SCHWENKSVILLE PA – Schwenksville’s streets will be cleaned Wednesday and Thursday (Nov. 15-16, 2023) by a street sweeper to “remove dirt, debris, and litter from our roadways,” Manager Dan DeMeno reports. Vehicle owners will be affected during the two-day period; DeMeno asked that vehicles be removed from the streets for “sweeping equipment to do its job effectively.”
The borough manager also noted the sweeping work “is NOT a leaf collection service.”
Property owners also are asked to remove any obstacles from the streets. To avoid potential flooding from rains during the sweeping period, the borough has also requested neighbors check storm drains in their area to ensure they are clear of leaves and debris.
Street sweeping is a crucial part of the borough’s infrastructure maintenance, he explained. It improves the municipality’s “aesthetic appeal.” It also contributes to a healthier environment by preventing pollutants from entering storm water systems and, beyond them, local waters.
DeMeno thanked borough residents for their help and patience. “We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this endeavor,” he said.
