LOWER FREDERICK PA – What was described as “a perfect fall day” ushered in the Trunk Or Treat event Sunday (Oct. 22, 2023) from noon to 3 p.m. at Lower Frederick Township’s Foy Park. It involved more than 30 exhibitors, many from last year but also some newcomers, who filled their vehicles’ trunks with goodies and let visiting children dive right in.
Mother Nature offered a brisk day with temperatures in the high ’50s, accompanied by a bright sun. Food items were served up by Van Pelt Hot Dog and Downtown Scoop premium ice cream. Returning to fill the park air with music, announcements, and organized dancing was Sound Sensations DJ.
Exhibitors included the township Police Department, Lower Frederick Fire Company, Pennsylvania State Police, and Plymouth Community Ambulance, all “with some excellent ‘spookification’ of their equipment,” photographer Greg Reich reported.
Joining them were members of the township Parks and Recreation Board. They incorporated items from the township’s weather-canceled Fall Fest, like pumpkin painting, into their Trunk Or Treat display.
An estimated crowd of 400 people walked, ate, and danced their way through the three-hour event.
