Traffic Restrictions Continue Next Week on U.S. Route 422

Overnight 422 Lane Closures Due Near KOP Next Week

October 26, 2023

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – As the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission continues with its project to widen and improve the highway near King of Prussia, overhead bridge work is planned on U.S. 422. Traffic disruption in the area is possible.

Drivers were advised by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation of travel restrictions that include:

  • An overnight lane closure Monday (Oct. 30, 2023) from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning on eastbound U.S. 422, between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202; and
  • Overnight lane closures Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct. 31 and Nov. 1) on both dates from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, on westbound U.S. 422 between U.S. 202 and 1st Avenue.

Drivers were asked to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. “Significant backups and delays will occur,” PennDOT suggested. All scheduled work activities depend on acceptable weather.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike is competing the project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit. This work will span parts of Montgomery and Chester counties.
