KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Drivers on Hollow Road in northern Chester County’s Charlestown Township may be affected during the next two weeks by a lane closure there, followed by a road closure and detour, according to the District 6 office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The portion of Hollow Road due for construction work stretches between Yellow Springs and Pikeland roads, PennDOT said. Workers there will be involved in saw cutting to improve storm water management and facilities, it added.
The lane closure is scheduled from Monday (Oct. 16, 2023) through Oct. 20 (Friday) daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The subsequent road closure and detour is scheduled for Oct. 23-27 (Monday through Friday), also from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Drivers will be directed to follow a posted detour route.
Drivers additionally are advised to allow extra time when traveling near or through the work areas. PennDOT said backups and delays will occur. The work schedule depends on acceptable weather.
The local work is part of a $14.9 million project involving more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region. PennDOT named Highway Materials Inc. of Flourtown as the general contractor.
