LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Two events – one for secure and private shredding of local residents’ unwanted personal documents, and the second to replace hard-to-read vehicle license plates – are scheduled to be held during late October by Lower Pottsgrove Township and 146th District state Rep. Joe Ciresi.
Free shredding of unwanted documents
Ciresi and the township will co-host a free document shredding event Oct. 22 (2023; Sunday) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until the shredding truck is filled, at Pottsgrove Senior High School, 1345 Kauffman Rd. Participating members of the public are asked to limit themselves to no more than five boxes of paper per household.
The drive-through event represents an opportunity for residents to rid themselves of private forms of information they no longer need or want. Shreddable materials to be securely destroyed can include old documents, folders or correspondence.
Wiggins Shredding will perform the work on-site. Shredding may end earlier than expected if the truck is filled before the event officially ends.
License plate restoration
Some vehicle owners have license plates that are considered peeling, blistered, discolored, damaged, or hard to read. They’re invited to apply for a free license plate replacement on Oct. 26 (Thursday) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gerald Richards Park, 2150 Buchert Rd., Sanatoga.
Lower Pottsgrove police officers will be on hand to check plates, verify they should be replaced, and provide assistance in completing a necessary form. Those for whom new plates are granted should receive them within 1-2 weeks, or up to 8 weeks for vanity plates.
