Scare Up a Good-Lookin’ Scarecrow, Sunday at Althouse

UPPER POTTSGROVE PA – Nothing yells “It’s Fall!” quite like a scarecrow. So the folks at Althouse Arboretum, 1794 Gilbertsville Rd., are hosting a Scarecrow-Making Workshop Sunday (Oct. 8, 2023) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition to being a family-friendly event, it’s also one likely to keep all family members busy adding their own special touches.

For a $20 fee, the arboretum will supply a selection of materials necessary to create the scarecrow of your familial dreams: hats, clothes, additional adornments, and plenty of stuff for stuffing. You’re welcome to bring your own items for some personalization, too.

If you need them, its staff and volunteers can offer basic building instructions, and maybe a helping hand as well.

Beverages and snacks are available. Once you’re done, you’ll bring your scarecrow masterpiece home for display.

Space is limited. Online advance registration for the event is requested. For more information, send an e-mail to Donna at donna@green-allies.org.
