Fourteen MontCo, Berks, Chester Troopers Earn Promotions

HARRISBURG PA – Six Pennsylvania State Police troopers from Montgomery County, three from Berks County, and five from Chester County are among those who received promotions in rank during a Wednesday (Sept. 20, 2023) ceremony in Harrisburg.

State Police Commissioner Christopher Paris said the local officers were among 36 new sergeants and 63 new corporals elevated in the event held at the Scottish Rite Cathedral and Masonic Temple, 2701 N. 3rd St.

Promoted to sergeant

Troopers from Montgomery County earning promotions to sergeant are:

  • Sgt. Elijah Jones, assigned to Troop K, Philadelphia. Jones enlisted in the state police in 2011, and was promoted to corporal in 2018;
  • Sgt. Jeffrey M. Lambert, assigned to the Bureau of Patrol. Lambert enlisted in 2007, and was promoted to corporal in 2017; and
  • Sgt. William L. Snow, assigned to Troop J, York. Snow enlisted in 2006, and was promoted to corporal in 2017.

From Berks County:

Sgt. Michael A. Bermudez, assigned to the Bureau of Gaming Enforcement. Bermudez enlisted in 2009, and was promoted to corporal in 2020; and
Sgt. Katherine L. Miller, assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Miller enlisted in 2009, and was promoted to corporal in 2018.

and from Chester County:

Sgt. Rayna J. Todd, assigned to the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, Philadelphia District Office. Todd enlisted in 2002, and was promoted to corporal in 2013.

Troopers from Montgomery County earning promotions to corporal are:

  • Cpl. Caleb J. Diaz, assigned to Troop K, Media. Diaz enlisted in 2016;
  • Cpl. Andrew R. Hearn, assigned to Troop K, Media. Hearn enlisted 2011; and
  • Cpl. Michael D. Magee, assigned to Troop K, Philadelphia. Magee enlisted in 2014.

From Berks County:

  • Cpl. Collin Hecker, assigned to Troop L, Reading. Hecker enlisted in 2014.

and from Chester County:

  • Cpl. Chad T. Burgwald, assigned to Troop J, Avondale. Burgwald enlisted in 2010;
  • Cpl. William P. Connelly Jr., assigned to the Bureau of Emergency and Special Operations, SERT East. Connelly enlisted in 2014;
  • Cpl. Travis K. Hill, assigned to Troop K, Media. Hill enlisted in 2010; and
  • Cpl. Jason M. Trupp, assigned to Troop J, Avondale. Trupp enlisted in 2007.
