Poconos Casino Patron Leaves Shoes, Another Takes Them

Poconos Casino Patron Leaves Shoes, Another Takes Them

September 18, 2023

MT. POCONO PA – Here’s a timely lesson, courtesy of Pennsylvania State Police in the Poconos: “Don’t forget what’s on your feet.”

A 39-year-old Tobyhanna PA woman, who was a patron in the Mount Airy Casino Resort at 312 Woodland Rd., told troopers there “she was missing her black shoes,” they stated in a recent report. The “shoes” also were described as “sneakers.”

The troopers conducted “a surveillance review,” and said it showed the woman “took off her shoes while at a slot machine. She “mistakenly left them under the chair when she went to play another machine,” they added.

Later, troopers also said, a different “female patron was observed taking the sneakers.” They did not suggest or explain why. That patron was contacted, and the footwear was returned without charges being filed.

The sneakers, or shoes, were valued at $17.

The report was among those which the state police released Tuesday (Sept. 12, 2023). At the time, the troopers were working in the casino on behalf of the state Bureau of Gaming Enforcement.
