Lower Frederick Set for Week-Long Route 73 Lane Closure

Lower Frederick Route 73 Lane Closed Through Friday

September 18, 2023

LOWER FREDERICK PA – Storm improvement work began this week in Lower Frederick Township, and is scheduled to persist through Friday (Sept. 22, 2023).

A lane closure was expected to be in place Monday (Sept. 18) through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily on Route 73, between Swamp Creek Road and Route 29. Road restoration work is due to be completed there, according to the District 6 office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The effort is part of a project, valued at $14.9 million, to address storm water management issues in Montgomery, Chester, and three other counties. Highway Materials Inc. of Flourtown is the general contractor.

Drivers should allow extra time when traveling through the work areas, PennDOT reported. It said backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.
