Collegeville Yard Sale Back on Schedule for Saturday

Collegeville Sale Shoppers to be Greeted by Bargains, Sun

August 28, 2023

TRAPPE PA – The return of what Collegeville borough officials describe as its version of “a bargain hunter’s paradise” is scheduled for Saturday (Sept. 2, 2023) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Waterworks Park on West First Avenue. The event annually attracts more 3,000 shoppers, making it one of the most popular activities of the Collegeville Economic Development Corp.

This year’s edition of the “Collegeville Colossal Yard Sale” received an enthusiastic response for rental of vendor spaces, and it’s reached full capacity. That means more than 80 sellers will line the park’s tree-shaded paths to offer “hundreds of unique items, antiques and collectibles, jewelry, household items, furniture, clothes, and toys,” the borough indicated.

The park also features a children’s playground (above). Food trucks will serve up breakfast and lunch edibles for purchase. Free parking is available on the park’s large playing field. The park and the event are handicapped accessible.

Sunny weather anticipated (but just in case …)

Potentially best of all, it added, there’s a high likelihood of good weather. Mostly sunny skies and high temperatures of up to 85 degrees were predicted (as of Monday, Aug. 28) by State College-based AccuWeather Inc. But, just in case, a rain date of Sept. 23 (Saturday) has already been set aside for the same hours and location.

“All of our sellers and shoppers love the shady surroundings, and shoppers walk away with hundreds of terrific bargains,” development corporation President Cathy Kernen said. “This is always a great opportunity to pick up some exciting treasures and low cost finds from your neighbors.”

Yard sale proceeds benefits the corporation. It works to promote businesses in Collegeville and Trappe boroughs and organizes events for area families throughout the year. For more information on the sale, call the corporation office at 610-409-0370, or send an e-mail to manager@collegevilledevelopment.org.
