POTTSTOWN PA – Road resurfacing operations scheduled by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will affect drivers on a substantial length of High Street, beginning Sunday (Aug. 27, 2023) and continuing through next Thursday (Aug. 31).
The work will occur on East and West High street from Pleasant View Road in Lower Pottsgrove, through the borough of Pottstown up to Roland Street, PennDOT’s King of Prussia office reported. A lane closure will be required.
Here’s the schedule for the department’s milling, paving, and utility adjustment work:
- Sunday (Aug.27) from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning;
- Monday through Thursday (Aug. 28-31) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and
- Monday through Thursday (Aug. 28-31) from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. PennDOT expects slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather, it added.
The department currently is working on several resurfacing projects in the Philadelphia region, with a total value of $134 million. It is milling existing roadway surfaces and repaving them with new asphalt to provide travelers with a smoother riding surface.
