PENNSBURG PA – A senior citizens’ expo, co-hosted by state Sen. Tracy Pennycuick and Rep. Milou Mackenzie, is scheduled to be held Sept. 15 (2023; Friday) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Upper Perkiomen Valley YMCA, 1399 Quakertown Rd. Advance registration is available.
The expo “will feature dozens of exhibitors from nonprofit agencies, local and state organizations, and area businesses. (They) will provide information on benefits and services available to older residents,” the legislators said. Also being offered are free health screenings, a light lunch, and door prizes.
SEPTA representatives will be on hand to assist with applications for Senior Fare Key Cards.
Pennycuick and Mackenzie said several topics will be covered that are likely to be of interest to those who attend. They include health care, insurance, nutrition, exercise, fire safety, financial planning, fraud protection, government, and personal safety.
“Seniors are often unaware of many programs and services available to them. Our expo will allow seniors to ask questions, engage with others, and even receive free health screenings,” Pennycuick said “Our expo makes it easier and more convenient by bringing everyone together in one place,” Mackenzie added.
