Lower Frederick Delays Mighty Manatees’ Performance

August 24, 2023

LOWER FREDERICK PA – Rain has postponed the final installment of the Lower Frederick Township 2023 summer concert series.

A performance by The Mighty Manatees band, which was scheduled to play Thursday (Aug. 24) from 7-9 p.m. in Cuddy Park on Colonial Drive, was delayed by mutual agreement between the township and the musicians.

The event, presented by the Lower Frederick Parks and Recreation Board, has been re-scheduled for Thursday (Aug. 31) at the same time and location. The show remains free to attend and open to the public.

Bring a blanket, a meal, and a dog (if you prefer)

Bring a snack or meal on the new date, if you prefer, and picnic while you listen and watch. Bring a blanket on which to stretch out, or a comfortable folding chair for the same purpose. Take advantage, too, of the menu of the “Downtown Scoop” ice cream truck, which will be available during the show.

Parking is plentiful, and so is the expanse of lawn that faces the band. Dogs are allowed to enjoy the music as well, as long as they are leashed for the safety and comfort of others.

The popular and long-lasting Manatees, formed in 1985, can be expected to play a wide range of music styles that include rock ‘n roll, blues, reggae, country, folk, ska, funk, and zydeco.

Sponsors make the free concerts possible. This year’s sponsors include Sacks & Sons, The Schwenksville Post, Peace in Zion United Church of Christ, Engage Arts Studio, Little’s John Deere dealership, U.S. Gas, Bella Cucina, Silvia’s Gymnastics, State of Mind Apparel, Athena Nail & Spa, Reiter’s Auto Repair, Jacobs Tree Surgery Inc., Value Engineering Inc., Wallace Services Inc., Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, and Take It Outdoors Adventures.
