Late Afternoon Storms Delay Grandview Memorial Race

Grandview Delays Memorial Race Due to Late Storms

August 13, 2023

BECHTELSVILLE PA – Late afternoon thunderstorms Saturday (Aug. 12, 2023) forced the postponement of the earlier announced Forrest Rogers Memorial race for T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds at Grandview Speedway, 43 Passmore Rd. As a result, both it and an anniversary celebration of Grandview’s 1963 opening were re-scheduled to Aug. 19 (Saturday).

Next week’s program will feature T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds running in the 53rd annual 50-lap Forrest Rogers Memorial, which pays $10,000 to its winner. Also planned are the T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman race, and a fireworks show sponsored by Spunktown Tavern and Restaurant of Boyertown. Starting time for the events is 7:30 p.m.

An Outlaw Racing Series for vintage cars, originally scheduled for Aug. 19, has now been pushed back to Sept. 1.

Grandview Saturday Race Honors Founder, Anniversary

BECHTELSVILLE PA – Grandview Speedway will remember its founder Saturday (Aug. 12, 2023), starting at 7:30 p.m., with its 53rd annual running of the Forrest Rogers Memorial for T.P. Trailer Modifieds. On the same day, the track also will observe its anniversary weekend of the track’s first race in 1963.

The 50-lap mid-summer championship race will award $10,000 to the winner. Its audience will win, too, enjoying a later fireworks show celebration for the memorial and anniversary. The show will be sponsored by Spunktown Tavern of Boyertown.

Current T.P. Trailer Modifieds point leader Brett Kressley is the defending winner of this event, and was victorious in two of the last three years. He will be looking for two in a row to help maintain his point lead over eight-time Forrest Rogers Memorial winner Craig Von Dohren. Von Dohren sits just 28 points behind the leader in second place in the standings.

Adult grandstand admission for the memorial costs $30; for students 10-15 with identification, $15; and children ages 9 and younger are admitted free. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.
