KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Road projects could affect drivers in parts of Pottstown, Phoenixville, Spring City, Lower Pottsgrove, and East Vincent through Friday (Aug. 11, 2023), the state Transportation Department office in King of Prussia announced.
The road projects are included in multiple contracts worth an estimated $134 million. They cover repairs to and paving of more than 200 miles of state highway across southeastern Pennsylvania, it added.
Scheduled in Montgomery County
- In Pottstown Borough and Lower Pottsgrove Township for utility adjustments, milling, and paving, a lane closure from Monday through Friday (Aug. 7-11, 2023) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, on High Street between Hanover Street and the Berks County line.
Scheduled in Chester County
- In East Vincent Township and Spring City Borough for milling and paving, a lane closure on Sunday (Aug. 6) from 4 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, on New Street between Route 724 and Main Street; Main Street, between New Street and Bridge Street; and Bridge Street between Main Street and the Montgomery County line;
- In East Vincent Township and Spring City Borough for milling and paving, a lane closure from Tuesday through Friday (Aug. 7-11) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, on New Street between Route 724 and Main Street; Main Street between New Street and Bridge Street; and Bridge Street between Main Street and the Montgomery County line; and
- In Phoenixville for casting adjustments, milling, and paving, a lane closure from Monday through Friday (Aug. 7-11) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, on Route 23 between Route 113 and Route 29.
The department is milling existing roadway surfaces and repaving them with new asphalt to seal the roads and offer drivers with a smoother riding surface. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. Slowdowns will occur, the department warned. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.
