COLLEGEVILLE PA – The next presentation in the free “Movies on the Lawn” series at Ursinus College, the Disney movie “Luca,” is scheduled for Friday (July 28) at dusk (about 8:30 p.m.) on the college campus, 601 E. Main St. If weather threatens, the film will be shown inside at nearby Olin Auditorium.
Foldable chairs or blankets will be desirable for seating on the front lawn. Bring them along and hope for the best. If the weather disappoints, the auditorium is filled with comfortable seats.
The movie and accompanying fun are possible under a partnership between the college and the Collegeville Economic Development Corp. (CEDC).
CEDC suggests visitors drive into the campus at the East Fifth Avenue entrance behind the Collegeville Fire Company building. “Park around Corson Hall or in the lots near the Facilities building. There is handicapped parking in the Corson lots,” it said.
Other activities planned, too
There’s an extra activity before the screening, too. Parents and kids “are invited to stop by the Berman Museum of Art” at 5 p.m. for a free ‘Cut and Paste: Collage Making Workshop.’ All ages are welcome, all materials will be provided. Advance registration for it is required.
Additionally:
- The campus is open for outdoor sculpture tours. Get a free map, available at the museum, of all the outdoor art;
- The college bookstore will remain open until the movie starts. It sells popular titles for both adults and kids, as well as Ursinus College apparel and giftware,
Local sponsors make the movies possible. They include Action Karate Royersford-Collegeville, The Barnyard, Bella Persone Salon, Community Music School, Edward Jones Office of Justin Bartolomucci, and Kimberton Whole Foods.
