Police Report Sobriety Checkpoint Likely This Week

Police Report Sobriety Checkpoint Likely This Week

July 24, 2023

POTTSTOWN PA – Police in Pottstown and in neighboring municipalities are expected to be out in force through Sunday (July 30, 2023). They’ve jointly announced plans to participate in upcoming “Team DUI” activities to find and stop intoxicated drivers.

The multi-jurisdictional enforcement team indicated it will conduct at least one sobriety checkpoint operation at an undisclosed location during the current week. Its members intend “to reduce the number of DUI-related accidents,” as well as enforce against “alcohol-related crimes,” according to a media release.

The team pledges to “apply ample enforcement of all liquor law violations,” it added. It also indicated prime targets included “problems of underage consumption” and “the purchase of alcohol by minors.”

Police urged all those who plan to drink alcohol to designate and rely on a sober driver for transportation.
