SCHWENKSVILLE PA – Kids love to have stories read to them, and the Perkiomen Valley Library at Schwenksville is accommodating that desire. The library is in the middle of its summer “Stories In The Park” program for local families. Their hour-long sessions are being held on Thursdays at 10 a.m. through Aug. 17.
The program is scheduled for five more dates in Upper Salford, Perkiomen, Trappe, Schwenksville, and Lower Frederick. They’re free to attend, and open to the public. On the schedule are:
- July 20, at Upper Salford Park, 559 Salford Station Rd., Schwenksville;
- July 27, at Perkiomen Park, 485 Gravel Pike, Collegeville;
- Aug 3, at Rambo Park, 43 W. 5th Ave., Trappe;
- Aug 10, at Meadow Park, 300 Main St., Schwenksville; and
- Aug 17, Coble Park, 1342 Gravel Pike, Perkiomenville.
At one of the most recent story times, Librarian Aileen Johnson (at top and above) entertained a group of about 25 parents and children July 6 in Lower Frederick’s Coble Park. Many of the youngsters listened with rapt attention as that day’s stories carried them away with imaginative characters and unseen places. Then they enjoyed the challenges of the park playground.
