Chester County Town Tour Series Returns for 29th Year

WEST CHESTER PA – Chester County’s “rich history, architecture, and cultural heritage” will be again be explored during Summer 2023 in its “Town Tour” series of nine remaining lectures and strolls held Thursday evenings through Aug. 17, the county Planning Commission announced.

Now in its 29th year the assembled programs are about, and are held in, communities where the county’s history happened. On the schedule are walk-abouts at and discussions of:

  • Westtown School, Westtown Township, June 15;
  • Thornbury Farm, Thornbury Township, June 22;
  • Paoli Battlefield, Malvern Borough, June 29;
  • “An Agricultural Past: It’s Not All About Mushrooms!,” Kennett Square, July 13;
  • Spackman-Davis Farm, Caln Township, July 20;
  • Grove United Methodist Church, West Whiteland Township, July 27;
  • Upper Uwchlan Township (advanced registration required), Aug. 3;
  • Yeager’s Farm and Market, East Pikeland Township, Aug. 10; and
  • Historic Yellow Springs, West Pikeland Township, Aug. 17.

All the events are free to attend, open to the public, and begin at 5:30 p.m.; except for the Aug. 17 tour of Historic Yellow Springs, which begins at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5 p.m. Each tour lasts about 50 minutes, the county said. The Aug. 3 tour in Upper Uwchlan Township is the only one that requires advance registration.

The PCTV Network. PCTV, headquartered in Pottstown, provides local television programming in western Montgomery, northern Chester, and eastern Berks counties.
